Incase and Speck finally have hardshell cases for the 2021 M1 Pro/Max MacBook Pro. It's about time!

iBenzer and Mosiso have both released their line of protective hard cases on Amazon. These brands are both best sellers. That said, I am not advocating for either of these options. I would recommend waiting for a more reputable company to release their 2021 protective case e.g. Urban Armor Gear, Incase, etc. In the mean-time, I have been using the 16-inch Macbook Pro zip-up case by Thule. This lets me use the laptop while within the case comfortably to minimize scratches/accidental damage.

Best full time hard shell case for MacBook Pro M1's is incase.com - I have one on my 2020 MacBook Pro M1 13"; no issues with heat etc. - However I also just got a new 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Max and due to the changes in the ports etc (and Apple keeping the final design so hush), Incase told me they will not have hard shell cases for the 16" M1 Max (or Pro) until late January/February 2022.

In all honesty anything that impedes passive or active airflow & heat dispersion is not recommended.

A quality padded travel bag if you are concerned about transportation.

it depends on the case. I’m hoping mCover comes up

with one soon.

I’ve had an mCover on my

2016 MacBook Pro and

honestly it never got hot

because of it. The bottom

of the case was very well

grated/ventilated, with cutouts that exposed all the fan ports.

it had back legs too, to elevate

the bottom for airflow.

Now at 2021, that 2016 has not

one scratch or dent because of

it. It looks like a new laptop.

I think it worked because it was

minimalist and non intrusive.

i suppose those thick cases that look like body armor may hinder

airflow.

it depends on the case
