Incase and Speck finally have hardshell cases for the 2021 M1 Pro/Max MacBook Pro. It's about time!

I second your agreement. I traded in my 2018 MBP on a 21 MBP M1Pro a little over two weeks ago and I've been missing a hardshell case badly. That was the first thing I did when I bought the 2018. Also had a screen protector and film on the top case around the touchpad. When I traded in the 2018, the store employees were impressed on how perfect it still looked. Indistinguishable from brand new once they removed all of the protection I put on it. Incase emailed about new products for the new M1 Max/Pro MBP but they're nothing more than sleeves and backpacks.

I quite agree! If Apple have in the past produced the cases then why would they do so if they were detrimental to the product? I have just shelled out eye watering money for my shiny new Pro 14 inch and although I do have a good padded sleeve, I work a lot in cafe hotspots etc and when travelling on public transport so the exposure to bumps and scrapes is a worry. I would have thought that they would have released a hard case fairly soon after releasing the new Pros, especially with Christmas round the corner......

I can't comment about why Apple sells anything. The same thing can be said about Mac App Store's carrying Advanced Mac Cleaner and other so-called optimizers that behave more like malware. Unless you purchase an item, you can't review it.

So you can't obviously comment on whatever you wouldn't buy in the first place.

Heat is something you may not notice is a problem until it is too late.

I agree though, if I was a store marketing manager, I'd want to ensure all third party items pass a certain quality check before being approved for sale.

But that's just me.
