Locked out of IPAD 7th Gen After IOS 14.7.1 update

Hi there


I have been locked out of an Ipad I purchased second hand in June. The IPAD was fully transferred onto my apple ID and it still appears on find my ipad.


My problem started when I updated my iPAD 7th Gen 32GB WIFI to IOS 14.7.1 and suddenly it asks for the apple ID that it was set up on. The device is no longer on the previous owners apple ID so he cannot remove it, yet my device does not allow me to set it up on my ID, even though its still on my icloud.
