iPhone 13 pro voice cuts and the other person can't hear me

I have an issue where my iphone 13 pro voice cuts out on speakerphone calls, not for me, but for the person on the other phone. Anyone else having this happen? The speaker grilles are clear.

Hello everyone.

i just want to share the solution i figured out which greatly helped me, hopefully it’ll be a big help to everybody struggling with the speaker problem; being not heard by the other party when using the speaker for calls.

during calls, slide down the top of your screen to open Control Centre. You will see the a setting “Mic Mode”, i saw in my setting that its “Voice Isolation” i turned it to wide spectrum or standard. And it immediately worked! Hopefully it will work. I have attached a photo of what im referring to.

cheers

There are many suggestions throughout this thread. Make sure you have the latest iOS version. Change your sim to eSim. You can do this with AT&T but not Verizon or Comcast I don't think. Did you put a "waterproof" case on your phone? Take it off. It covers the microphone holes. There are other suggestions but these were the most common fixes I've read.

It has nothing to do with an issue with the mic. You can record voice memos and videos perfectly. It's a very nuanced issue that only occurs on speaker phone WHEN the OTHER person on the line is interjecting in to the conversation. Upon hearing his voice the mic activates it's faulty call noise cancellation feature which causes YOUR voice to cut out. If the other person is silent or muted it'll be absolutely fine. Try it. I spoke to Apple senior support and they are aware of this issue and trying to find a fix. I have 4 iPhone 13 pros in the family and they all have this issue. Even separate carriers. This is an APPLE issue and a software one that is. I'm fairly confident this is effecting all iPhone 13 pros, it's just that most people don't pick up on it, especially if they don't use speakerphone often.

What I am experiencing also happens when I am using iPods and just the regular phone in addition to the speakerphone. It is almost like there are multiple issues - noise cancellation and maybe 5G related issues. Not sure but I sure wish Apple would internalize it is called an iPHONE not iApp or iText. It is almost like they have lost the basics. Does anyone know a version of the phone that is not having this issue with the latest iOS release? I have to either go back generations or switch to another vendor. Can't tolerate this very much longer.

Hey everybody. This could be very bad. I don’t have this problem after I took off the waterproof case I bought so many or most phones are working as they should. If an IOS update didn’t fix it, eSim change doesn’t fix it, turning off background noise dampener doesn’t fix it, and they can’t fix it thru the software with an update, then it could be a chip in the phone. That more than likely means you need a new phone. A recall like that would be in the news and Apple doesn’t want that so they are going to try to ignore this problem as long as they can and hope it goes away. I think you need to go to an Apple store, demonstrate the problem, ask the tech to try the same thing on a new phone and see if you can get yours replaced. Apple is going to resist this all the way.

Hi.

The problem is not for 5G because I have this problem and I use LTE network. my provider doesn't support 5G, so it is not the sim or network issue. I also have this problem when I have WhatsApp video or voice call on the loudspeakr. It is iPhone problem since I use this sim also on my iPhone 5s and everything works very well. The iPhone 13, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro plus completely become an iApp and iText. Apple disappoints us with this brand new iPhone and with this huge problem which they don't even admit it!

I'll try this again without any "offensive" stuff;

Reset network settings, replaced sim card, tried data roaming on and off, tried just

using LTE, WIFI on and off, tried remote diagnostic with Apple, had diagnostic at

the Apple store, restored my phone to factory settings without any of my data

or apps to make sure something wasn't interfering, switched carriers, had the

phone replaced with a new one and went through everything again, and no luck.

The iPhone 13 pro Max does not work and I don't know how to point things out,

but Apple won't let me downgrade to another model or take mine back because I spent over the time limit trying to

get it to work. Their only suggestion was to try and sell it on my own and buy

something else.

I have the same issue in my iPhone 11 Pro for the past 2 years. This started happening after the software 13 update. I have contacted several customer support agents to get no resolution. This almost seems like a purposeful attempt for Apple to ensure we also buy their Bluetooth devices and that they are not ready to rectify this issue to ensure increased sale of their other devices. I am so disappointed in Apple and the way they are handling this software bug.

I tried contacting Apple support and they wasted an hour trying to tell me that I will have to go into an Apple store Genius Bar to factory reset and debug the issue before they can escalate this to the engineering team. They said if I want a backup phone while they debug it I will have to authorize my credit card with the amount for the new phone which could be more expensive than my current phone. How can we escalate this further. I think we should increase activity on this article and make sure Apple team does something about this issue.

Chatting with rep today - got my new iPhone in Nov - phone was worse when I first got it but still cuts in and out. Went to AT&T store, they tested the iPhone and said it was a hardware issue. My Mom just got a new iPhone 13 Pro also and hers is the same - cuts in and out during calls (both on speaker and handheld) - Apple rep on chat says this has not been identified as an issue with Apple - I sent him this link. He is having me update to the latest version and asking me to get back with him once I've tested it - wants me to test over FaceTime as well. Will be getting back with them in a week or so once I've had time to fully test. I'll have to get a different phone eventually because I use mine for work.
