AirPods Pro sound distortion

The audio from my AirPods Pro was really distorted when they are connected to my phone today. I unpaired them and restarted them but it is still distorted. I tried listening to the audio of a bunch of different apps so I know its not just one app. However, I connected them to my MacBook and the audio works perfectly fine. I don't really know what is wrong so how do I fix this?
