Why is the front camera background purple color?

This happened after the recent ios 15 update. Whenever I turn on my front camera in a light place it turns purple. Specially in the sunlight. What's wrong with this? Is it a hardware problem?

Thanks for following up. Since you're seeing the issue across Apple and 3rd party apps, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support so they can remotely test your camera for hardware issues or take it in and have it checked out by a technician. Hello kavindu289,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having issues with your camera. To help us determine how best to move forward, we'd like to ask a few questions.

  • Do you see the same issue if you view your photos in other settings besides "Vivid"?
  • Do you recall the phone suffering any damage or a drop or bump that could have impacted the camera?
  • If you use a 3rd party camera app, do you experience the same issue?

You mentioned this issue appeared after updating to iOS 15. To clarify, are you updated to iOS 15.0.2? Are there any troubleshooting actions you've tried on your own?

Best regards.
