6 months old MacBook Pro startup and other issues

MacBook Pro 16, 2019 purchased May 2021 to replace failed 2013 iMac & 2013 MacBook Pro.

Machine spent a week screen freezing (several times), losing Finder (once), then after shut down it failed to startup, going to apple black screen (once).

Used ID power/button to close and reboot.

Questioning why this new, $3,886 machine is behaving like my now extinct old iMac before I spent $450 on a failed repair job.

Since the bulk of my warranty has a fair distance to run, and this problem is giving me serious concerns about the lifespan of this machine, how likely is it that Apple would agree to a replacement?

Thoughts?

Run the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected.

Disconnect all external devices in case one of them is causing a problem.

To look for a software issue run EtreCheck and post the report here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper.

Try an SMC Reset and PRAM Reset (hold the PRAM Reset for at least two chimes).
