Apple Watch not collecting respiratory rate

I have Found some help. It’s all about how tight of loose the band is. Too tight and it doesn’t work, too loose same. Had to be just right 🙄. And I think If I bump it or move in my sleep during a measurement it doesn’t do it. So I think It is just very touchy.

I’ve had this exact issue. Also because I wanted to use the feature in AutoSleep. The toggle was showing nowhere to enable respiratory. I did a soft reset on my Apple Watch (hold both buttons until reboot). Little later I checked again for the toggle, and it’s there.. hope it helps for you as well.

Have you toggled on Respiratory Rate?

From your iPhone>Watch>Privacy>Respiratory Rate>toggle on

and it worked. i now have respiratory rate data. I would def. do a full reset on watch as "new", not using the backup. must have something to do with the timings of the updates on the phone and watch that made it not work before.

I was having the same issue. did a full reset of the apple watch, and set up as "new". I didnt use the back up. I now have the respiratory option under privacy on the watch. It was not there before. So hopefully it should now start to track it.

Having this issue too, except I have the toggle switch and it's enabled. Just not tracking respiratory rate

Exact same here. The toggle is on and it has worked a couple nights but now 3 nights in row hasn’t worked. I’m out of ideas.

I have the same problem!!! I have searched everything I can and done all the steps but cannot get it to work. And when I go into the privacy settings in the Watch app, no toggle for respiratory rate either! Have you found any solutions? This is really bothering me!

I did what you suggested and still no option to toggle on the respiratory rate under privacy in my watch app. And now I’m having to download everything from scratch too. So that definitely did not work for me. Thanks for the suggestion tho! So weird, I cannot figure it out for the life of me!

You need to update to watchOS 8

Watch and iPhone are all updated, doesn’t solve the problem.
