On your iPhone:

To turn off the default security setting that keeps Mail images from loading,

(Seems to be default so "spammers" don't get feedback on whether you've:viewed their messages.)

You might want to try going to Settings > Mail > messages > Turn on "Load Remote Images"

All the best :-)

Hi again KarenCla,

Wondering if you now have the most recent update on your iPhone, (iOS 15.3) ?

Seems it isn't you, or where you live, that is the security risk ....

Apple wants to protect it's device users from the sender of the e-mail,

who may want to observe /collect / your private data / viewing habits etc.

It is your choice ... you can turn on / off the protection for Apple "Mail" app..

Turned on, Mail Privacy Protection makes it harder for senders to follow your Mail activity

Apple Support's article: "Use Mail Privacy Protection on iPhone"

Says:

"Go to Settings  > Mail > Privacy Protection.

Turn on (or off) Protect Mail Activity."

If you are not using the Mail app for your eMail,

and

are using Safari / Outlook / for your Mail

... you might want to check how Outlook handles settings for the loading of images.

SOLVED! After months and months of imageless messages in Mail on my iPhone, this fixed it for me:

*Reset Network Settings*

It's in Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

NOTE: This will flush your WiFi password (or possibly all of them). But it fixed the images issue in mail.

NOTE: After resetting network settings, messages you've already viewed in your inbox may not display their images, but newly received email messages will. (Or did for me.) I was, however, able to force an older message to display its images by archiving it, then undoing that action (returning it to the inbox), then marking it unread. After those steps, that message displayed its images.

Pictures stopped loading for me recently after updating to iOS 15.5. This only happens to me when on wifi, i switch to cellular the pictures and email contents load instantly. I used to see the option to selectively load content at the top of emails, which I liked.

I went through every possible email / messages setting I can find, as suggested by others. Finally, I went to my wifi connection details, I first tried turning [private wifi address] on and off, it didn’t make a difference, then I tried disabling [limit IP address tracking], it was on by default, now I get the “load content” option on my emails again! Hope this helps others having a similar challenge.

I found that the only way to load images in my received emails is to turn off (Limit IP Address Tracking) by going to Settings > Wi-Fi.

Then click the blue (i) beside your WiFi network name. Now you can find (Limit IP Address Tracking), turn it off.

This worked for me.

This was a fix suggested by someone earlier in the thread. I was getting the images when using the mobile network. They just weren't coming through with WiFi. I was also having problems with sites not loading. As soon as I switched off WiFi the sites were loading. Having switched off "Limit IP Address Tracking" I've not had any problems since with emails and websites.

This didn't help, this looks like an answer if you have this issue on mac. But I had the problem my iPhone.

That's right I said 'had', because today while opening an email, I got a privacy protection message asking me if I wanted to activate this option. After doing that the images in an email load again.

Somehow this message didn't came up in the first 2 days after the update to iOS15.
