issue with file deleted coming up every 3 seconds

Anyone else getting a norton message saying file deleted with the following location - /private/var/root/.AthenaSearch/AthenaSearch??? driving me mad as it is doing it every 3 seconds

Suggest that you boot into Safe Mode and then completely uninstall Norton using instructions from the company. That software has basically disabled your Mac, it needs to be completely uninstalled and removed (and not reinstalled).
