Final Cut Pro Version 10.6 Errror - The XML document could not be imported. DTD version is not recognized.

We've had really good luck using Sync-n-Link X to create multicams. It can allow for offset audio but it does require matching timecode, so that may not work for all production levels. No affiliation with the company, just a happy user.

Maxon promises an update soon but it turns out to be incompatible for those who work with weddings, the solution they present on the site doesn't work for me, in the davinci software it also resolves I can't import. Using 3 cameras and 3 sound recorders is complicated to synchronize manually or through the tools built into the final cut itself. While there is no solution I bought a license for the syncaila software for 6 months and I am enjoying it at first I will give up on pluraleyes.

Do not try to attach the file.

Instead, click the additional text button:

Open the xml file in TextEdit, select all, copy, and then paste into the text box.

fcpxmld files are bundles - special folders, that are treated as files, just as FCP libraries are.

I tried exporting to XML a small test in 10.6, and it created an fcpxmld bundle.

Looking inside, I can see that it has "real" fcpxml file inside.

Importing back into FCP 10.6 caused no trouble at all.

I saved your xml to a file "example.fcpxml", imported into FCP and it worked just fine.

I am not PNTDXTR, but I think I can answer that question: if one has Time Machine, it is only a matter of navigating back to a point in time before the latest updates, and restore 10.5.4; or, better yet, as I do before every update, one could have made a zip of 10.5.4 for safekeeping.

It is perfectly all right to have more than one version of the application.

I have Final Cut Pro at the current version, and have also the 10.5.4, merely renamed as "Final Cut Pro 10.5.4" and sitting right there in the Applications folder, not even in a separate one.

Also, you can select version 1.9 and it will export a regular fcpxml file. This is probably best, in case, of course, you are exporting a project that does not any 10.6-specific features.

You could try sending the file to yourself using wetransfer, and post the link you receive here. It will probably be removed but we may get to see if before that happens.

Has anyone managed to resolve this? It's causing me a lot of headache as I have to use my wife's laptop to open the PluralEyes XML into FCPX (not upgraded to 10.6), once the library opens, I can transfer the library to my MacBook Pro and then I can work the file- it's just a bit of effort for something that worked seamless before... any help appreciated.

At the moment redgiant hasn't released any updates for pluraleyes I'll wait and see,

Hi, I have an exact same problem here. Spent hours trying to figure this out yet whenever I have "CAPTION" in my project, it seems XML (FCPXML, and now apparently it is FCPXML with D at the end) collapses with my newly updated FCP.

I have deleted my entire program and re-downloaded. I wish I could down-grade since the most important function is missing.

Thank you Luis! It works just find with regular FCPXML file yet, despite old or new version of file, whenever there is 'caption' added in the project, I get "The XML document could not be imported." message. Do you have any clue with this issue?

I have just heard from one of tech guy, 10.6 is buggy meanwhile Apple is aware of it and promises a fix. (So finger crossed!)

After removing Chrome and the keystone things it is necessary to delete FCP and download a new copy from the App Store.
