Is there a way to open FCP files in FCPX?

I have several Final Cut projects that I created with FCP 5 or something. I just bought a new Mac and got the new Final Cut 10.5.4 and the new FCP won't open old files. Is there a way to do this I am unaware of?

You would need an old mac running a legacy version of FCP, export XML from there, then a third party application SendtoX to convert the XML into a format that the current FCP can read.

It is likely that the translation may not be absolutely perfect, as the applications are quite different, but it should get most of it right.

(Disclaimer: I have not done this, as I never used the legacy FCP)
