No sound notifications for texts on iPhone 12

Just set that and will wait to see what happen. This trouble started long before I got my watch - it absolutely makes sense that it’s to do with Face ID.

Well I noticed a text was sitting there about 5 minutes after my tester sent it so clearly that didn’t work.

only had my phone for a few weeks all was working ok at first but only just started to realise that notifications make any no noise I only get a nudge on texts get nothing for mail not even sure if its ringing

Interesting. Mine rings for phone calls, but doesn't often do a text noise. Mostly notice a text when my watch vibrates.

I haven't yet worked out when it does it. However, generally, I look at my screen and see a pile of texts there. Luckily I mostly use WhatsApp for my work, which is fine and makes as loud a noise as you like.

In fact all the 3rd party apps seem to be fine - the Guardian tells me if there's a news headline, other apps ding reminders to my front page. It's just texts as far as I can see. And this has been going on for ages and ages - pretty sure it was the iPhone 7 when it started, because I was hopeful that it would all change with the 12. So the glitch has come over on my sim card or through iCloud or something.

As though it's on Do Not Disturb but it's not.

Exactly. It seems to be watch related in my opinion. My notifications worked yesterday but not this morning. Why? Who knows.

Soooo infuriating!! I have an Iphone 12 and do not have a watch but do use mac desktop and laptop and ipads... my phone will NOT make sounds when texts come in... Its effecting my work severely

iphone SE 2nd gen does not have the "Attention Aware" function, so this suggestion won't fix it.

Where are the techs

exactly!! Where is the help at? This is the exact reason their falling behind the competition.

Been since October last year and no help from Apple ! What is going on, why are they not helping?
