Apple Music not able to CROSSFADE when playing lossless music

Apple Music is not able to crossfade when playing lossless music. Crossfade works great when playing non-lossless music. I have attempted to fix this issue but nothing works. I've tried unchecking it and then closing out of preferences. I've tried unchecking it, closing out apple music and then reopening music, and then checking crossfade but it still doesn't work. I've restarted the MacBook too. Apple, can you fix this bug?

MacBook Pro 13" 2018 2.7GHz i7 16GB RAM

macOS Version 11.6

Apple Music Version: 1.1.6.37
