what is this others?

I am regularly facing this problem with storage. I usually store only docs and pdf. photos and videos are very less in my drive. even then i am seeing this 'others' taking a lot of storage. how to find and delete these files?

Apple in their article, See used and available storage space on your Mac, discuss the Other category which is managed by the operating system, not the user.
