Restore Multiple Apps and Desktop Arrangement after Restarting???

Most browsers have a great function now where they give the one option of restoring all the tabs after a crash.

Is there something similar for open apps and multiple window arrangements on dual monitors with a normal restart (or crash) for Big Sur?

That is, instead of opening certain Word, Excel, and Filemaker files, Outlook, and a host of other programs, at startup and then spending 5' arranging "just so" their respective windows across multiple desktops on dual monitors, is there a way that Big Sur can take an internal "snapshot" of all this and then automatically "restore" all this at a restart?

Many thanks!

Send feedback to Apple.

It should restore what you were doing, but Mission Control (i.e. Desktops) are Application-centric, not Document-centric. You can assign Applications to Desktops, but you cannot assign Document windows to Desktops.

Apps put into Full screen go into Dynamic Desktops created when you enter Full Screen, so those may not be recreated in the same location.
