Ipad mini 6 cracked glass
Has anyone had problems with ipad mini 6 screens seemingly "spontaneously" cracking?
I had my ipad for barely 2 weeks and I noticed a few days ago when I was cleaning the glass there is - along the top near the camera - what looks like a small 'impact' crack and hairline fractures. I originally thought it was dust as it is that small! Note, there is no damage on the case. (The photo is taken under bright light to illustrate)
I took it to the local (Canberra) Apple store, but a very belligerent and rude 'team leader' refused to budge from the corporate stance that it was 'impact' from 'accidental damage'. I am the sole user and I would happily sign an affidavit attesting that I did NOT damage the ipad in any way, shape or form. Even my husband who is a CIO of a very large corporation was flummoxed as to how the crack occurred! The only thing which 'impacted' on the screen was my finger and the Apple pencil! (Hah, so much for 'gorilla glass'!)
So, I have two questions:
1. Can anyone hazard a guess as to how this crack would have happened (it seems in such an odd spot)?;
2. Has anyone else had problems with the ipad mini 6 display glass?
Either way, I'd suggest anyone thinking of purchasing an ipad mini 6, be mindful of my experience. I am now essentially left with a piece of junk and being called a liar, courtesy of Apple - because Apple staff are committed to 'units' rather than 'people'. And, no, I didn't take out 'Apple Care' because under Australian Consumer law you are rather well protected. It seems like Apple have figured that 'flawed' glass can and will be written off as 'accidental damage', thus leaving the onus completely on consumers, with little recourse but to cough up either way.
