My file transfer from the old MacBook Air failed and I have rethought some of the set up choices, so I want to reset my new MacBook Air and start over from scratch. How can I do this?

You can reinstall macOS by following these instructions. Before you click Reinstall macOS, you can use Disk Utility to Erase the drive first.

But, if you've already got an account setup then it's far easier and faster to simply open Applications > Utilities > Migration Assistant and try transferring your data from your old MacBook Air again. When it's done, you'll be asked the same setup questions when you log into that account. If your old account exists after logging in with the new one, simply delete it.

Doing it this way instead of reinstalling macOS saves time by skipping the recovery process - which can be slow depending on your internet speed.
