USB-C SHORT Apple Watch CHARGING CABLE

Apple used to sell a SHORT .3 Meter USB-C Apple Watch charging cable. Chrome finish.

Now they only sell the longer 1 meter version of the USB-C Apple Watch cable with a brushed aluminum finish.

Is there any issues with using the SHORT USB-C chrome with the series 7 and a 30W charger or stronger?

I wonder why they stopped selling it at the same time as the series 7 Apple Watch came out.

Thanks for any thought, Michael

The older USB-C and USB-A charging cables will work with all versions of Apple Watch, but they only offer regular/slow charging. The new 1m cable with the aluminum puck shell supports fast charge (with Apple Watch series 7) and regular/slow charge with all other versions. At this time Apple has not released any other USB-C cables with fast charge capability.

I think @Rudegar has misunderstood the description with aluminum, you seem to be referring to the new Apple fast charge cable.

apple only sell apple brand white cables, if you see aluminium finished cables they are third-party maybe the third party manufacturer stopped selling the shorter cable because of low demand, or apple stopped displaying them in their webstore because of low demand, you can try checking the third-party manufacturers website or google for options if you need it to be aluminium

This seems like the correct answer thank you. I have the newer brushed aluminum 1 m cable that came with my series 7. I purchased the .3 m version on Amazon and I know it is old stock from Apple because I clearly remember them selling this. I think you are correct it does not charge quite as fast as the new longer version. It also heats up a bit more in the beginning and I think that is the main reason that they are sticking to the Longer cable for now. Thank you so much for your response that is my gut feeling across-the-board! Michael
