problem getting email on macbook

My Macbook Pro using High Sierra 10.13.6 does not get all of my mail. I have done the usual quiting mail, checking connections and all is good. I click get new mail and it says no new messages! My I phone has lots of new messages and so does my Ipad. I have restarted the Mac. Not sure what to do next.

If this is an IMAP account and it is not syn correctly as you indicate...

The go-to way of resolving issues is to delete the account and then add it back it to sort issues.

Add or remove email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support
