How do I add my own cds to my ipad

I have a ton of music on my windows laptop and I have pointed my iTunes for WIndows to my MP3 folder on my laptop and now iTunes on my laptop can see and play all my existing music collections.

My question now is, how do I make my MP3 Library available to listen to on my iPad Mini (Mk2)

This has been getting my extremely frustrated for a loooong time now - not being able to listen to my own library on my iPad - I hope there is a way to do this or both iPads will be going on ebay.
