Multi-user iMac with iTunes question

We have an iMac shared in our office for which a user installed software from the App Store, but has since left our business. We cannot update the App using the account of a current employee because the App Store wants the original user to log in (and the email address for that user is "grey" so cannot be changed). Help, please.

Delete and redownload that software. That person's Apple ID is stored inside it.


On a Mac, this won't erase the data, but that should be backed up anyway.
