Photo upload to iCloud
I am unable to upload photos from iPhone to my iCloud account from either the iCloud app and the Safari .com address. I can select photos but do not see option to upload to iCloud. I’m using a 7+ with OS 14.3. Any help?

Go to Settings > Photos and make sure iCloud photos is enabled.
You can check the status by opening photos
Open photos
Tap library
Scroll to the bottom
You'll see your item count and beneath that the current cloud status

Any photo on your device is also in the cloud. Any change made to a photo, will reflect everywhere. iCloud is primarily a syncing service, not offline storage. You can reduce the size of your library on device by selecting Settings > Photos > optimize photos
I see that. Do photos on phone automatically upload to cloud when taken. I am trying to free up space on phone but keep photos on cloud. When I remove photos from phone they seem to delete from cloud also. I thought the cloud was to save photos indefinitely?
Thanks muggy, so what is my best option for off device cloud permanent storage and free up space on phone? Thank so much for your feedback.
Google, DropBox, OneDrive are options. I'm sure there are plenty more out there.
Best advice I've ever been given is 3-2-1
Make 3 copies of your data, 2 different ways, with one saved offsite.
