macOS Monterey Post-update Launchpad
I upgraded to macOS Monterey today. After upgrading, there seems to be a icon with a question mark (❔) with name "Install macOS Monterey". Should I be worried? Please help me.

OK, I removed it.
Here's how:
Click and hold the icon until it jiggles. Then click its Delete button (the "x" in the circle).

Then try the Option key and X should appear - click the X to remove.
Or
Just Drag and Drop the icon to trash.
Actually when I tried using the option key - system tried running the app - and put a big question mark on the app...then after 10 seconds or so...the system removed the icon
before clicking didn't do anything
I suspect that the app icon was cached somewhere and option clicking force the system to refresh
This did not work for me, on click-hold, the icon jiggles, but not 'x' in a circle appears. Other apps have the 'x' in circle. The "install Mac OS Monterey" does NOT have the 'x' in a circle. If its jiggling or not jiggling the system ignores moving it to the trashcan.
My Launchpad shows this as well. A restart of my Mac did not remove it. I'm baffled ... for now.
Thank you. Worked for me.
Excellent.
And, by the way, I searched my Mac extensively for a file with a name like "Install MacOS Monterey" and found no such file. I think things are clean now.
Enjoy your Apple gear.
Good and it is now gone
Thankyou for working that out.
Its been driving me crazyyyyy!!
happy New Year :)
