Getting an app for older system

Hello guys, I have question about downloading a program from App Store (Xcode to be more specific). Problem is that it asks me to have version 11.3 on my Mac, while I have 10.15.7 (Catalina). Problem is, that in order to have 11.3 (or newer), I'd have to update to Big Sur, which I don't want to - last time I tried, my Mac got completely f****up and I had to downgrade again. Is there any way how to get the program on my older version, without update? I've managed to download it form Apple website, yet when I want to instal it, it write the same thing about the version.

Have you ever downloaded XCode through the App Store using your Apple ID

if so open the App Store click on Store in the menubar and select View My Account,

you may have to sign in.

This will open a page with all the apps you have downloaded via the App Store,

if you had downloaded XCode previously it should appear there.

Download it again, you will see a drop down telling you that the latest version requires

Big Sur 11.3 but does ask if you want to download an older version.

The older version it downloads will be the correct version for macOS Catalina.

Are you registered as a Developer with Apple, if so you can download older versions

of XCode through the Apple Developer website.

https://developer.apple.com/support/xcode/

You could sign up today, I think it is free.

The link below should take you to the older versions of Xcode,

I think version 12.4 is the correct one for Catalina 10.15.7.

https://developer.apple.com/download/all/

you have to scroll down quite far to get to 12.4.
