calendar is slow to respond after update to ios 15.1 on iphone XSmax
That’s what I find too. When you change dates it’s like they overlap. I can’t trust what I see and until I touch the calendar entry does it refresh and show the proper appointments. It sucks big time.
I'm facing that issue too, with Google.. As soon as I add the account to calendar, the app first seems to have to do a lot (wheel spinning), no scrolling possible, and after about 10 sec it crashes.
I have just done a diagnosis session with Apple Support, they will forward the data to development and analyze.
Why is this marked Solveed?
If you're having this issue, please, report it to Apple via the Support app on your phone. This is the best way for them to see the impact and ensure they have all the right logs. Push to get the case bumped up to a Senior Advisor.
IOS 15.1 UPDATE has rendered my calendar/diary almost unusable on my iPhone X. It is impossibly slow and often stops when trying to use the LIST VIEW. I am in fear of losing all of my calendar entries!
Also my iPad Pro (12.9) has downloaded the update but will not install it! I have tried to delete the update from the ipad storage page but this request refuses to delete it.
Come on APPLE it’s about time you put this awful version of IOS 15 update mess right.
I have the same issue with a XS. The calendar is extremly slow, it is a pain to do anything with it. I have to wait for 20-40 seconds just to respond to any scroll or tap on any buttons. It was fine before iOS 15. Please fix this issue urgently, because it is ridiculous, that such a basic function is unusable.
I read it was an issue with Exchange calendars & the solution was to remove the Exchange account. Another solution is to switch to Outlook and use that calendar. Or use the Google Calendar. Maybe Apple is trying to make people stop using their calendar? It doesn’t make sense.
@PVcoach, what's the solution for, in removing an Exchange account that contains professional appointments? - Btw, my Google calendar doesn't work either. And Outlook was no solution too. Maybe except for people with some kind of burnout and wishing their work calendars may be unusable forever.
Issue is Apple should be accountable for this, instead of asking you to reset your phone or remove accounts to fix the issue…. This is not fixing Apple…. Also the battery is drained every time I open the calendar and the phone is burning at touch
Im experiencing same issue, calendar freezes, boots me out, etc. I’m running both Exchange and Yahoo calendars on my iPhone. I thought it was Exchange as well because of all the security measures we implement every few months at our college, ACL changes, etc. I turned off WiFi and that seemed to fix issue… we’ve been testing WiFi vendors as well. Got home started getting same problem there as off home WiFi. Seems toggling WiFi off/on seems to temporarily fix issue. Restarting iPhone does nothing… and I would not reset networking settings on your iPhone as some have suggested, all it will do is wipe out all your WiFi network logins, etc. It may well be an issue with the new IOS syncing with Exchange, toggling WiFi seems to temporarily fix issue… Apple needs to step up and address issue.
This is affecting all iPhones and all calendar types, outlook, Exchange, gmail etc. I cannot believe that this bug made it through Apples QA, and he fact that Apple gives crappy “ do factory reset” is disgraceful. It’s a bug FIX IT and release update. Calendar is one of the most important tools since many of us have many calendars and the phone makes it easy to see all in one screen.
come on Apple 🙁
I have tried toggling my wi-Di button. This hasn’t improved my calendar’s performance, it seems to get slower and more difficult to operate every day. Come on Apple - own up to your mistakes and sort this problem for IOS users! It is spoiling the company’s reputation.
Same here. I’ve checked my calendar account settings and it looks like updating is setting the sync option to all events. After switching to Events two weeks ago the calendar is responding almost like normal.
I have iPhone 11 Pro Max and I have the same issue with my calendar. When I check mark my exchange email on, my calendar app slows down significantly and lags a bunch. I have software 15.1 and it seems like this issue on my phone just started less than a week ago.
having the same issues and no response from Apple on any of these long-standing issues. I just added Google Calendar aps to my iPhone and iPad, they work really well, have no lag in updates and both have better UI than iOS native apps.
As a software team lead this seems to be some major bug in how Apple calls data over the network, I logged into the Apple iOS Health app and it took 5 mins for the app to update milage for a long hike, and the mileage was completely wrong based on map and fitbit. Wow MANY fails Apple
Here's a temp solution I found until they fix the problem:
If I give permission to the Google Calendar app to read my phone's local calendars, it displays the dates and times absolutely perfectly even if they are incorrect in the iOS Calendar app.
I acknowledge that you may not want to share your calendar with Google but if you're struggling as much as me, it might make for a good temporary solution until this bug is resolved.
well sharing with Apple or sharing with Google all the same. I have one Gmail personal, one Gmail enterprise, and two Outlook calendars that I need to sync up, Google calendar for iOS and iPad do a great job they found them all instantly and the UI in Google calendar app is much nicer than legacy Apple app.
If Apple won't even respond to the issue then I'm done with their apps forever
