Iphone 13 pro max discharging/ showing wrong battery percentage

Hi,

i’ve had my iPhone 13 pro max since launch day and battery life has been amazing. Lately i’ve been noticing that every time i fully charge my phone to 100% and leave it plugged in for a while that it discharges a lot. I use the fast charging brick so its not a weak charger/ cable. Tried a hard reset which made the battery jump from 92 to 100% but its weird to me that this is happening. Anyone else with this problem or is it an ios 15.1 bug?

Hi there mvwijk,

Thanks for your post to Apple Support Communities. We see you have some concerns with your battery after a recent iOS update. We'd like to clarify details about the issue, then work through some basic troubleshooting.

Are you advising that your battery actually drains while plugged in to charge?

Do you notice any errors or popup warning messages?

If you test with a different cable, does the same thing occur?

If you unplug it after charging it to 100%, then plug it back in, does the same thing occur?

Are you using an Apple-branded cable and power adapter?

We'd also recommend checking and cleaning your lighting port. This will make sure there isn't any dust or debris that could be impacting the connection.
