Alexa doesn't play certain specific songs from my Apple Music playlists

The reason I subscribed to Apple Music is because Alexa has a skill for it and this supposedly allows me to play my iTunes/Apple Music playlists on my Echo Dots. However, when I play my playlists, Alexa always stops playing when it reaches certain, specific songs. (This is not about the 11 songs at a time situation, which is also ridiculous and very frustrating.)

When it reaches these songs, it simply stops playing the playlist. If I play the playlist on iTunes or with Apple Music (PC or iPhone), everything works just fine. This only happens with Alexa and it is always with the same songs.

I have removed problem songs from the playlist and re-added them, and that sometimes resolves it but only temporarily. Eventually, the same songs make Alexa stop playing. This only happens when I'm playing my iTunes/Apple Music playlists on Alexa via the skill. Like I said, it's the reason I subscribed to Apple Music so this is really a pain. Also, it happens on all of my Echo Dots, whether playing individually or in the Everywhere group. So it doesn't have to do with the Dots themselves.

I tried something I found on the internet but the same problem still happens with the same songs in my playlist. Here's what I tried: I removed the Apple Music skill, then I factory reset all four of my Echo Dots. I then re-enabled the Apple Music skill and made it my default for music. Didn't resolve anything.

I've seen a lot of user complaints about the Apple Music skill. Is it just junk? Thanks all!

Hey ballz97fm,

It appears that you're having a problem playing a few songs with your Apple Music subscription using Alexa and Amazon Echo Dots. Great job on the troubleshooting you've tried, and we're glad to provide assistance.

Amazon.com Help: Music or Media Not Playing with Alexa -- Since those songs play just fine without using Alexa or your Amazon Echo Dots, Amazon has provided this information and steps to help with their products.

All the best.

Thank you but this article is about WiFi connectivity. If WiFi had anything to do with the issue, the songs would stop randomly. It is specific songs that make Alexa stop playing my Apple playlists. It certainly seems to have something to do with the way Alexa handles certain songs/files. I'm surprised that no one else is reporting this issue. This issue pretty much negates the reason I subscribed to Apple Music. I'm probably going to have to drop Apple and switch to an Amazon Prime Music.

Thanks for getting back to us, ballz97fm. It's appreciated.

Since Apple Music plays as expected on your PC and iPhone, the only other variables are Alexa and/or your Amazon Echo Dots. Since the issue you're having is limited to Amazon products, we supplied the appropriate steps that Amazon provides per the title of their page. The first part of the page we previously sent focuses on Wi-Fi issue, but there’s more to the page than this. A bit lower down is other information provided by Amazon. You'll find that under "Related Help Topics" near the bottom of the page.

Take care.
