Screen saver broken in Monterey
When selecting the Photos library or a folder of photos, they do not render. Have tried various options (e.g., Classic, Ken Burns, etc.). No luck.

In Photos, with that library open, go to Photos->Preferences and click the button “Use as System Photo Library”. Then instead of navigating to the folder, choose the library or specific album within it.
Same here, but it only in my multi monitor setup! When using my MBP standalone the screensaver, Photo Wall, works fine. but with one or two monitors plugged in the screens stay black. Already posted my feedback to apple.
Having this issue as well on my 2018 Intel Mac mini.
It's actually the latest issue I've been having with the Classic screensaver when pointed at an Album in my Photo Library.
Couple of months ago, possibly after an update to Big Sur, the Classic screensaver started displaying the photos in the album in their original unedited, non-16:9 aspect ratios.
Reported to Apple and sent an email to the folks as MacGeekGab podcast to give the issue some publicity.
As far as I understand these message boards are not monitored by Apple and their function is simply to enable Apple users to support and advise each other. You can post your criticisms direct to Apple by other means.
I also find that if I go into Photos and right click on an album and choose "play slideshow" it will not play. I think the issue is slideshow with Photos. The Apple screensavers all work. Photos do not.
I'm running Monterey 12.0.1 on a new 24" iMac. No problem right clicking on an album and playing a slideshow. Also no problem using albums as Screensavers. On my Wife's 2017 Intel iMac running the same version of Monterey , a no go using Photo albums for screensavers.
Look in the Macintosh/library/application support folder. If it worked you should see a folder called ilifemediabrowser and iLifeslideshow folder. You only need the first folder to make the screensaver to work. If neither one is there then the install did not take. Not sure where to go to get the file unless you know someone with an older OS that you could copy the folder from.
Wierd thing with the screen saver - for me ,the screen saver will work when the "1" , "2" or "5" minute option is selected. Once a larger time frame is chosen the dreaded "yellow triangle" shows up. It works for all the standard savers. The photo and snapshot are still blank.
I spoke with apple about this problem. They said they were working on a fix. When that will come is a big question. Hard to believe Apple is so inept to put out an operating system losing a basic function.
I just updated to 12.1 and still am unable to run my Photos screensaver without the iLife and other tasks using up hundreds of percents of my CPU and crashing my computer. As before, I had to rush to force quit those tasks in Activity Monitor to avoid the computer seizing up and crashing before I could do it. Ugh!
Only partly fixed. If you use a folder of pictures in Photos for your screensaver, and if you have edited any of your photos, then the screensaver shows the unedited version of the picture. In this respect we are back to where we were with the final version of Big Sur. So we are still at least one fix away from properly fixed.
I've given up. As my goal is to simply have a completely black screen (point to a folder with a black JPG inside of it), I've opted for the Apple black screen saver. I have to settle for the gray logo floating around, which isn't what I want, but it's better than getting fluorescent green half the time.
FWIW, the Photo screen savers don't seem to be working. I don't know if they are broken or no longer supported in Monterey.
What is weird is that the screen saver works on my MacBook with photos, but not my iMac with photos.
I've been using the Ken Burns one as a baseline. Just curious, are you able to use the Ken Burns effect in the Photos app when trying to create a slideshow??
Tried Ken Burns, classic and a couple others with both the Photos app and a folder containing photos. No luck.
