Screen saver broken in Monterey
When selecting the Photos library or a folder of photos, they do not render. Have tried various options (e.g., Classic, Ken Burns, etc.). No luck.

I wanted to edit this to add to it, but can't do that, so here we go. I did notice on the iMac that if I pick any other screen saver, Monterey, Hello etc. they work, it is just with photos that they do not work.
I may have stumbled onto a solution. Last night I uploaded more pictures onto my exterior drive , where the photos library is. I looked at the screensaver option under preferences and tried it again. It still didn’t work. Then under the “Source”pull down menu I selected People. It loaded there on the preview and subsequently as the desktop screensaver. It’s been flashing my past life across the screen ever since. It may not pick up all the photos but it is using very old ones as well as recent additions. Good luck!
FWIW, the Photo screen savers don't seem to be working. I don't know if they are broken or no longer supported in Monterey.
What is weird is that the screen saver works on my MacBook with photos, but not my iMac with photos.
Tried Ken Burns, classic and a couple others with both the Photos app and a folder containing photos. No luck.
It's a bug with Monterey. Report it to Apple via Feedback - macOS - Apple. Those who were in the Monterey Beta program report it via the Feedback Assistant app.
Apple is not here. You can send them feedback.
Same issue here. Submitted a bug report here Feedback - macOS - Apple but honestly, this is really annoying and hoping it is resolved soon.
It worked in BigSur.
Stoped working after installing Monterey.
I tried images from the photo library and a folder with images.

Same problem. Just sent a feedback here: https://www.apple.com/feedback/macos.html
This sucks, just upgraded to Monterey and now stuck with a broken screen saver.
Reported!
Everyone needs to take a moment and do the same -- https://www.apple.com/feedback/macos.html
Note sure but see if this will download. If it does you only need to keep that one file and the others can be deleted:
can you try doing the same method by using safe mode.

Do inform me if it works :).
This issue is even happening with the included dynamic desktop wallpapers. It keeps reverting to the default Monterey wallpaper on startup. Any suggestions for troubleshooting this?
