Group text problem

Why does an unknown number appear in my sent texts to a group I am a member of? I can't seem to get rid of it even though I have not included it in the recipients list.

The person with the unknown number is probably part of the group, which is why you can't remove them. It is impossible to remove a participant from a text group chat. You can always block the number (Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts > Add New...).

i don’t think I worded it well; the problem is in a group text which I send; not one I receive. Out of the blue an unknown number appears as included in my send list. Then I got a reply from that person telling me to remove him from the list. So I repeat the process carefully choosing the recipients and send a new text. The number is not listed with the group before I send the text but it appears immediately after! Totally weird. If anyone has insight into this problem I will be immensely grateful!!
