IOS 15.1 not receiving text message notifications on lock screen

After update to IOS 15.1 I'm not receiving text message notifications when lock screen is on. I have enable "show on lock screen" and "show previews", Do Not Disturb is disabled. iPhone 11 Pro. I've also restarted phone.

Hi,

Do you have Scheduled Summary enabled within Settings > Notifications?

View and respond to notifications on iPhone - Apple Support

If so, disabling this feature should resolve your issue.

Hope this helps!

I was having the same issue and it magically “fixed” it self when I was texting other iPhone users. But I also notice when I went in to my messages some notifications were still not showing in my phone. When I pressed conversation I was having with some of this contacts the “Hide Alerts” was selected even tho I didn’t do it. Hopefully this helps.

I am having a similar issue but Resetting Network Settings didn't change anything. For my issue on a SE2 effects when the phone is locked or unlocked. When unlocked the red bubble with the number "1"will show up but no other indication will occur. It only occurs in the Messages app and is affecting all communications within that app (contacts and non contacts). Other apps are notifying me as normal.

“So I just went into the apple store and they told me it is because I have an Apple Watch. Apparently, when an Apple Watch is synced to an iPhone, all the notifications of through the watch…there will not be notifications on the phone….”

This does not apply in my case. I have notifications turned on for my Apple Watch. When iPhone screen is locked, I still get no notifications (on watch or phone). Even tried u pairing watch and it still happens. Apparently there may be multiple causes but there are definitely ongoing issues with Lock Screen notifications that Apple will not acknowledge.

one-of-8... I have iPhone 1, IOS 15.1

Following the steps Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings...that doesn't work for me I DO NOT HAVE "Reset" on the General page so I can't access Reset Network Settings Did you skip something? The list on the General page is (on MY phone):

My reply to your above post (you and I have no other replies to one another so I'm confused):

YES, you do have RESET. Tap on "transfer or reset phone" (it's next to last on your above list) and once in there you'll find "reset" AND "erase all content settings". Tap on "reset" and you'll have 5 choices.

I went through pretty much the same thing. I went into the store and the guy told me it is because of the Apple Watch, so now it gives me notifications through the watch - which is not what I want it to do. It drives me crazy because I wear my watch pretty much 24/7 and if I forget to put it into “do not disturb” I will get waked up in the middle of the night from some random text that comes in…

I really think we should be able to choose how we want our notifications.

Thankfully, I am getting some notifications.

This happened to me when I got my iPhone 13 Pro almost from day one. I spent hours on the phone with customer care, took it to the store…twice…even got a replacement device. The first time I was told that it was a watch pairing issue. Unpaired it, and re-paired it and it worked…for about a week…and then back to the same problem. I did hard resets, restored to factory settings and set up as a new device (which was an AWFUL process and I ended up losing some of my stuff), but the problem still existed. I unpaired and turned my watch COMPLETELY off, didn’t fix it. There were some settings that looked like they could be related to the issue so I turned them off…I also unpaired my iPad and turned it off. Still having the issue.

now for the crazy part….

all of a sudden…and for NO REASON…it just stopped happening. I hadn’t done anything to try and fix it…no updates…nothing. I just wasn’t having the problem…as much. Every once in a while it’ll do it, but RARELY…which is still EXTREMELY annoying and this problem should’ve been fixed by now. $1,100 for a new phone that has THIS VERY BIG ISSUE? Ridiculous. It’s pretty disappointing that Apple hasn’t put any priority into fixing this issue.

my suggestion is to be the squeaky wheel with Apple Support….call every day and let them know you still have the problem. Eventually, there might be a resolution…but I wouldn’t hold my breath at this point.
