IOS 15.1 not receiving text message notifications on lock screen

After update to IOS 15.1 I'm not receiving text message notifications when lock screen is on. I have enable "show on lock screen" and "show previews", Do Not Disturb is disabled. iPhone 11 Pro. I've also restarted phone.

So I just went into the apple store and they told me it is because I have an Apple Watch. Apparently, when an Apple Watch is synced to an iPhone, all the notifications of through the watch…there will not be notifications on the phone.

I also had the notifications turned off on my watch (not on my phone)…so I turned my watch notifications on and now it all works through my watch…which frankly *****. I don’t want the notifications going through my watch, I want them going through my iPhone…but it doesn’t work that way now.

Hi I’ve updated my iPhone SE to the latest software 15.1 and I no longer get any messenger message notifications showing as a banner when my screen is unlocked or locked and same for text messages etc. Very frustrating as this means I cant see at a quick glance who’s messaging me and means I can miss messages. Can we have another software update to fix this please ? Why is this happening now ? Annoying bug with this update and seems maybe only affecting all of us with SE iPhone ?

The following is what Apple Support had me do and it corrected my issues. I have iPhone 11PRO

Let's attempt the following steps. Navigate to Settings > Notifications > Messages and turn off Allow Notifications. Once it's off, navigate to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you’ve used before. If you're using iCloud Keychain, these settings are also removed from other signed-in devices.

Your iPhone will restart during this specific reset. After it resets, you will need to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network and turn on notifications for Messages again. Test to see if that helps both on Wi-Fi and on your cellular network.

one-of-8... I have iPhone 1, IOS 15.1

Following the steps Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings...that doesn't work for me I DO NOT HAVE "Reset" on the General page so I can't access Reset Network Settings Did you skip something? The list on the General page is (on MY phone):

I started having the issue about 1 day before you. Same exact phone. Called Apple Support and was on the phone with them every day until they advised me to go into a store. The guy there said it was an issue with my watch pairing. He unpaired it and re-paired it and it seemed to work until about 10 days ago. It’s back to doing the same thing. At this point, I’ve unpaired my watch completely, gone into a store AGAIN, got a replacement phone, and guess what? STILL DOING IT. This is so frustrating. I wish I never bought this POS phone. $1,000+ and can’t even get a text notification??!? Unbelievable.

Are you still having the same issue or were you able to get it fixed? If it’s fixed, please tell me how you got it to work..

That is Not what you stated in your original post to me. I'm not computer literate by and stretch, I won't follow your instructions for fear of what will happen when phone is reset, for instance will I lose passwords pictures, or anything else that could disable my phone. I also found recently my phone and my Mac computer were automatically linked which I did not want, my passwords were linked automatically to my phone .I did not want passwords on my phone,

I went through pretty much the same thing. I went into the store and the guy told me it is because of the Apple Watch, so now it gives me notifications through the watch - which is not what I want it to do. It drives me crazy because I wear my watch pretty much 24/7 and if I forget to put it into “do not disturb” I will get waked up in the middle of the night from some random text that comes in…

I really think we should be able to choose how we want our notifications.

Thankfully, I am getting some notifications.

OMG! Exact same problem here. I have been trying everything to get this resolved. I am not getting any notifications when my phone is locked. They are also not going to my watch. I think it started after the last update. Every time I pick up my phone I have missed all kinds of messages. I have double checked my settings everywhere and it all looks right, but somehow it seems like it is on do not disturb or something when the phone is locked. I have tried to send myself texts from my mac and even seen a message that I have notifications silenced, but I don’t. I hope this gets figured out quickly as it is driving me nuts.
