After iOS 15.1 Upgrade, No Notification Sounds

It didn’t help! Regarding to the settings, I haven’t changed any setting for months and after upgrading to IOS15.1 I noticed that if my phone is locked, I don’t receive any notification about messages, calendar reminders etc. To fix this issue I turned on scheduled summary for notifications and set showing them immediately for specific app - finally I can see notifications on my locked screen but the are still silent however the volume is on. Honestly, it’s a real mess from apple development side, because I don’t want to change anything on my phone after system upgrade. It’s really a big problem, I miss a lot of urgent notifications and reminders. If you don’t fix this problem ASAP it forces me to buy an NOT apple product.

Please tell me how to set up my phone so that when I receive messages, and the phone is locked, and someone sends me a text message, I will hear a sound to single me. I have it set up for Bark sound. Something I did (wrong) has made it not work. I am 82 years old. Simple directions, please.

I updated my IOS to 15.1.2 2 days ago and immediately lost sound for notifications and the phone ringer. I have followed your directions to no avail. I have never used "focus" so it is off (I checked it). I had people starting to panic because they could not reach me (am 76 and housebound). How does this get fixed?

I have been constantly missing time sensitive messages and calls for some time and couldn't figure it out. Why would anyone shut off peoples notifications in an update? That is the stupidest and most irresponsible thing I've seen in a while. I'd be angry about it anyways but then to make it worse the explanation for how to set notifications is HORRIBLE! Who writes them?

I also do NOT get sound notifications any longer AFTER updating to 15.1

PLUS, when I open maps in my car, I can hear the directions, BUT when I start ANY podcast, I can see the volume bar moving up and down, but NO SOUND. This is very, very bad.

These are just general instructions. Not useful at all, because of this update we have missed a lot of important notifications.

So frustrating I have missed many important calls and messages since updating and nothing is fixing it!

I have the same issue on both phone and watch. Have tried changing the focus settings and restarting. Still not receiving notifications. Missing important messages and calls.

What should I do now?

iPhone XS Max ~ updated to 15.1 and now no text sounds. Tried suggestions. Nothing has worked.

I used to be able to have "flash" when I got text messages... not anymore....?

I have no sounds, notification, phone calls, text messages, etc. I’ve tried the turn off,wait,turn on, reset all options, powered off so many times. This is TERRIBLE. APPLE NEEDS TO FIX THIS

As you can see in the remainder of this thread, it 'goes' very poorly for us. Perhaps you could revisit this and help us out since your company is obviously the one that screwed it up for everybody.

You did nothing wrong. Apple screwed this up for tons of people and are as usual terribly slow and ineffective at helping us.
