iPad mini 6 and issues with cellular connection?

Just got my new iPad mini 6 with cellular option - I have Consumer Cellular for my cell phone and have also had them for my previous two iPad mini's with cellular. Even with a new SIM card they can't get the iPad to connect to their network. I've made 3 calls in the past two days to them with different people working on the issue. The last one who said she was a Supervisor claims that Apple made changes in 2020 that restricted the use of iPads on the CC network. Although I have an appointment with the Genius Bar at the Apple store this week, I think it's not going to help....I hope it will but provably not. I got the cellular model of the iPad mini because I take it places and can use it when wifi isn't available.

Anyone know if there are problems with perhaps the IOS 15.1 that could cause cellular issues - My iPhone 13 works great with CC no issues with that just the iPad. Thanks.

Hello kellysquare,

Thanks for reaching out through the Apple Support Communities about that difficulty with connecting your new iPad mini to your carrier’s network.

It looks like you've had the chance to review the related article above. While Consumer Cellular is listed there, they don’t appear to be listed in the following article: Wireless carrier support and features for iPad in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico

So this may be a compatibility issue with your carrier.

If you haven’t already done so, you can reach out to Apple Support so they can look into this further prior to your upcoming Genius Bar reservation: Contact Apple Support

Take care.
