My watch activity disappeared from a week ago?

I’ve been working hard to close all three rings every day for a few months now (and trust me, I’m diligent about checking them). But I just checked the fitness app on my iPhone and noticed that all of my activity on Monday the 18th and Wednesday the 20th has just disappeared? It’s as if I didn’t even wear my watch because there’s no activity recorded, but I know for a fact that those rings were closed. Any suggestions?

Hey mnb1839,

Thanks for getting back to us with that additional info. We're committed to getting this working as it's intended for you.

It looks like we've got an update available for both devices so our recommendation would be to update both watchOS and iOS and let us know if you're still seeing issues with Activity data not propagating between the Health app and the Fitness app. Find guides for updating both devices below.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Update your Apple Watch

If you're still running into an issue after updating, let us know if your steps are the only point of data you're noticing aren't being recorded or if you're seeing missing data elsewhere as well and we'll continue.

Hey mnb1839!,

Thanks for posting in Apple Communities today.

It sounds like you've noticed a discrepancy in your Activity data for certain dates within the Fitness app on your iPhone. We can understand wanting accurate records and want to help as much as we can.

First, if you haven't already, restart both the iPhone and the paired Apple Watch and check again. Use the resources below, should you need help with doing that on either device.

Restart your iPhone.

The other option would be to manually enter in the data for those day using the steps found in Manage Health data on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Apple Watch.

If that doesn't help, let us know which iOS and watchOS you're using and we'll continue from there.

Regards.

Thanks! I went to my Health app and tried entering the data manually, however, I noticed that there is data for those days. It seems as though the Health app is accurate, but it’s not reflecting on the Fitness app. For example, the Fitness app has no data (not even a single step), but the Health app has 3,000+ steps recorded.

I am currently using iOS 15.1 and WatchOS 8.1.
