Unbelievable! Insane trying to delete a template from Pages but I stumbled upon the answer. None of the other solutions here worked on my new Mac. I have a new MacBook Pro running Big Sur 11.6. The ONLY way to delete a template in pages is to hold down the control key and THEN right-click. You'll get a choice of delete or rename! Boy O boy....what a hassle THAT was. Someone in the engineering department needs a talking to!!

No, "right click" does nothing, no response on my Mac. I decided to test some of the other keys and was lucky enough to find that the "Control-right click" brought up the delete, rename and share options. If you look around here you'll see some of the "remedies" that are listed for this, one requires about 10 steps....and a lot of frustration. So I'm hoping this helps some folks out. I had all but given up.
Apple documents how to do this in the Pages User Guide for Mac. If you are using a Magic mouse, it is a simple click of the right mouse button to expose the My Templates Rename/Delete menu or control+click will do it too. On a MacBook Pro or Air, one just needs to apply a two-finger tap (if configured), a control-click, or control-right-click, any of which will expose the secondary Template menu.

Does this process work with the templates included with Pages, with templates you have created, or with both types?
Also, in previous versions of OS X and macOS, control-click is equivalent to a right click. It was introduced prior to OS X, at a time when the Apple mouse was a single button device.
Does your process work with either a control-(left) click or a right click (without the control key)?
