Files App Bugged? Please Help!

Hi all,

I updated to iOS 15 on Monday. I was in the process of creating shortcuts to files on my Home Screen tonight. I successfully created 3, then the files app stopped working.

When I open the Files app, I see none of my files and simply see a message on the screen that reads, “No file to preview.”

I receive the same message when using my shortcuts that I created.

I can’t access anything in the Files app now, there’s just that message on the screen. It doesn’t show recent, or allow me to search, or to do anything. Just a blank screen with those words on it.

I have restarted my phone twice, and nothing has changed.

anyone have any suggestions as to what is going on?

Thanks

Hey please delete your files app and reinstall it from the app store. I had the exact same issue. This is the only thing that worked. They need to fix whatever is causing shortcuts to bug the files app

Hello QuimKQ,

Thanks for reaching out through the Apple Support Communities about that behavior with the Files app.

To verify, was your iPhone updated to iOS 15.1? Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Do you use the Files app with any other devices? If so, are they showing the same message?

Also, are you able to view your files through the iCloud website? iCloud

Hopefully those details will help to further isolate this behavior.

Take care.
