Lost ipad

Hi, so I lost my child iPad.

I keep receiving texts saying “ your Apple ID code “ is “ ——“ .

I don’t even remember the email we used to set up the iPad or Apple ID I know I used my current phone number as a “ back up” kinda thing and someone is attempting to reset the iPad is my assumption.

is there any way around using my Apple ID to track it? Because I know none of it.
