My AppleTV is completely silent after updating to 15.1 :-(
I tried every setting in the audio preferences, no luck ...
... any suggestions?

Same problem here.
I have a setup with an Apple TV HD, a projector without audio and an HDMI audio extractor in between which sends the audio to a PA system.
Since the Apple TV auto upgraded itself to 15.1.1 I have no more audio.
The device is completely useless now as I don't have any other way to get audio in that particular setup.
I've send feedback via https://www.apple.com/feedback/apple-tv/ as well.
I have the same issue with my Harman Kardon AVR. since updated TVOS to 15.1.1 the audio is gone.
I will try to reach Apple support and see if something will come...
I second this. I’m not able to play any sound anymore after the 15.1.1 update. The hdmi splitter isn’t producing sound anymore and this is really frustrating.

Use 15.2. It will fix the problem.
It's a release candidate for devs at this moment, with non-trivial installation steps.

15.2 is easily available and will show up as soon as you enroll your tv....

Following up to my own post: The upgrade to tvOS 15.2 has solved the problem for me, as it has for a number of other posters in this discussion.
Yep. Confirmed after a reset, still no sound. Guess it’s back to the PS5 for a while. Ughhhh.
