Trackpad haptic feedback

Hi

Mac 27 inch retina late 2014 (I know, legacy, but still going strong!)

All of a sudden the haptic feedback on my Apple Magic Trackpad 2 is no longer working.

If I turn the trackpad off and on again it works.

I've tried an SMC reset and a PRAM reset to no avail.

I've tried switching off haptic feedback in the Trackpad preference pane and then back on also to no avail

I've also tried switching off haptic feedback in the Trackpad preference pane, restarting and then switching it back on in the preference pane. No joy.

It's a minor thing but it's a little bit irritating to have to keep switching the trackpad on and off to get it to work.

I'm suspecting a bluetooth handshaking issue, so when I turn the trackpad off and on, I force a handshake again but I am no computer expert so happy to have alternative ideas.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Chris.
