Mail exclamation triangle false signal

The Mail exclamation triangle now appears against my Gmail account, which however continues to send and receive all mail correctly. This false signal, which began about a week ago, does not apply to my other Mail accounts.. Shutting down and restarting the computer does not cure it.

Greetings owen philip,

We understand you're seeing a warning icon in macOS Mail with regard to one of your accounts. We're happy to offer some best practices to try.

Check out Use Connection Doctor in Mail on Mac for instructions on the utility that you can use when this symbol is displayed to help diagnose possible issues so you may resolve them.

We hope this helps!
