Can’t hear caller

Hi, I have an iPhone 8 recently, probably after an update, when I receive a call or make a call for that matter, an orange dot appears in the top right of the screen and I cannot hear the other person except on speaker. This is a new problem, this is an extremely annoying problem. Does anyone have any suggestions before I throw my phone in the bin.

If you have a hearing or sound issue on your device then please try some of these processes to set it right

If the above options do not mitigate the issues then Contact your carrier and then Contact Apple Support
