Resolution issues after waking up M1 Mac Mini with MacOS 11.3
I have to resize my windows after waking up from sleep my M1 Mac Mini (I have a 16:10 monitor, it comes to life with 16:9 resolution)
Problem since Big Sur, So it's not only Monterey related.
It's really annoying: Apple fix this!

System Preferences - Display - tick the "Scaled" button - option for Larger Text and More Space shows below. Click on the icon below that best suits you viewing preference.

Use the M1 Mac Mini upgraded from Big Sur 11.6.1 to Monterey over HDMI to Asus 27 " Monitor.
No Scaling and no issues here
What Asus do you use? My guess it's one of the many 16:9 monitors on the market NOT a 16:10 one...
