iPhone xr screen

phone won't allow to me to close an app or open any notifications, just stuck on outlook emails. Also cannot shut down phone. help?

my iPhone 6 email program will not open I have an iPhone 6 with software version 12.4.8 . I have recently lost email. When I tap the "Mail" icon, the mail will load for a second, then the screen will go back to the main menu screen. If I try it a second time, the screen goes right back to the main menu. I tried deleting all email accounts, rebooting the phone, and reinstalling the accounts, but it did not work. Help, please!

Try a "forced" restart of your XR, using these instructions:--> Force restart iPhone – Apple Support
