2021 M1 14" MBP BlueTooth Magic Trackpad 2 Lag

So I recently got a new 2021 M1 14" Macbook Pro with Monterey on it. I use an Apple Magic Trackpad 2 over bluetooth, which had been working flawlessly on my previous 2019 Intel Macbook Pro 15".

I've tried everything I can think of with this Magic Trackpad 2 on my new macbook and no matter what I do, when using it over bluetooth, I get just enough lag / jumpiness to drive me nuts. When I plug the magic trackpad into a USB port it works fine as expected.

I've tried the obvious things, such as rebooting, unpairing the trackpad from bluetooth, re-pairing it. I've tried disabling the apple "find my cursor" feature. No matter what I do this issue persists.

Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions on how to fix it? Is this a widely known issue with M1 or something that I'm just joining the party on?

I could have found a solution...maybe.

I'm using a hub/stand from Satechi for Mac mini. This thing was causing an interference with the Bluetooth antenna.

So I added a couple of ferrite beads (not Sure this is the correct English name ) to the cable between the Mac and the hub, and the issue seems gone. I will keep testing for a few more days and see if it stays this way

I’ve had this issue intermittently on a 13” M1 MacBook Pro, but it wasn’t confined to the Magic Trackpad. It also affected the Bluetooth keyboard, several seconds of delay before splurging several characters to the screen, missing some along the way.

I also had lag issues with my MX Master 2 mouse.

Connecting all devices to USB avoided the issue, and it intermittently works flawlessly and other times lags.

Location is irrelevant. It does the same whether in the office, in my home office, and I even tried taking my laptop & mouse to a field away from interference and still got the same issues.

I have the same problem with Macbook 2021 14 inch. I am using the 2021 magic trackpad and it is horrible lagging. @Apple should notice this community thread and do something about this. Quite interesting we pay such a premium price to get a product that should work flawlessly, yet still is bugging so much.

looking forward to hopefully get it fixed in a new update.

Yes they should notice and help the people affected. This part of the community needs more people to help. The macOS system and software community has so much people helping unlike here. It's too popular. There are other communities that other people hardly get help, and it takes so long to get one reply/answer for their problem. There should be more people helping other communities, and not mostly one community.

I have a Macbook Pro (2021 16" M1 Max) and can't even get my Magic Trackpad 2 to connect without a USB cord. The trackpad is fully charged and the computer says that the trackpad has been successfully connected wirelessly (only when plugged in). The second it's unplugged, it disconnects. When I try to connect to it via Bluetooth, it says "connection rejected." Is anyone else having this issue? It seems that these Trackpad 2s do not work well with the M1s in general.

Same exact issue here with new 2021 Macbook Pro 14".

It might actually be more of a Monterey issue, since I had already noticed some issues on my older machine, which was an early 2015 Intel Macbook Pro 13". It is definitely more pronounced on the 2021 machine, however. Did you upgrade your old machine to Monterey? Any issues?

Only thing I've been able to do so far is plug the trackpad into the computer. That seems to be working without a flaw.

I haven't had any issues with the Apple bluetooth keyboard yet.
