Monterey system preference issue

Since loading Monterey I can't access bluetooth, trackpad and some other preference panes--the system prefs app either crashes or gives me a can't open message. My bluetooth keyboard works--even with bluetooth "turned off" via the menu icon--but my bluetooth track pad doesn't.

Try this

Open finder

In menu bar mouse to the go tab and click on it

Press and hold the option key to to see the hidden library folder ( it will appear below Home in the list)

Now mouse down and click on the library item to launch it in a new window

locate this file com.apple.systempreferences.plist and drag to the desktop (you may have to enter your password)

close down your Mac and reboot

Now launch system preferences ( that file will regenerate) and the default system preference set will be recreated

Check the one(s) that were missing are back.

Now move the old plist file you put on the desktop to the bin/trash and empty

Reboot again and the problem should have cleared .

Uninstall both per the developers’ instructions.

Never install any cleaners or antivirus if you want to have a sane mac.

You may eventually have to do a clean install, as especially cmm is known to corrupt macs left, right and center.

For now, uninstall and then post an Etrecheck report so we can check for other possible issues.

You still have sophos in there, and it is probably blocking stuff.

I would also not use Techtool; it is not needed.

Yeah, I forgot that I had turned it off but not deleted it. I've now deleted the app and nearly other all Sophos files, along with techtool and the system preferences file and still no change--bluetooth and half a dozen or so other system preferences still won't load.

I say nearly all Sophos files because I can't delete ten of them--I get a permissions warning, and have been unable to change the permissions.

There are no known Windows-like Viruses in the wild that self replicate and affect macOS, because of the underling UNIX  Foundation and Permission Limitation.

The The Built in Security  is all that is required to protect the computer.

To add to advice by @Luis Sequeira 1 regarding CleanMyMac - the first 600 posting on these forums all point to the harm this Applications does and to Remove as per Developers Instructions.
