Alternative but good lower price remote to the two Apple TV remotes?

Other than Apple brand, what is the absolute best alternative remote to the two Apple TV remotes, which you can buy at a lower price? 

Let's say, under $40 with actual physical buttons. Comfortable to hold and use too. AA batteries prefered. (I get over year with the Amazon FTV remote batteries with heavy use.)

I know one exists in Switzerland for those who use Salt fiber service. You might see it for sale on eBay but, it seems uncertain it will work in USA. Not willing to risk plus, it is $56, so it is out of contention.

Before Apple deletes this, this questions is about using an Apple product: In many families, the Siri touch remote was lost or damaged and the new remote is too expensive and likely to be trashed too. So the objective is to keep using a remote (not the remote app on an iOS device) but that has physical buttons and is cheap enough that when it vanishes or the dog eats it or the kids spill milk all over it, the loss is not as much as the expensive Apple remotes being trashed.
