Apple Music (Automatic Downloads)
Since installing Monterey, automatic downloads option in Music no longer stays turned on. After I check it, reverts back to off. Anyone having same issue? Assuming it’s a bug

Can confirm that this has been fixed in the MacOS 12.2 that came out today Jan 26. Yeah!

Hi there yathatryan,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Thanks for reaching out to us with this trouble you're having with the Automatic Downloads on your Mac. We'd recommend resetting the nonvolatile random-access memory (NVRAM) to help with this issue. Follow the steps here to do so:
Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac
Let us know the outcome, and we can go from there if needed.
Have a great day!
Possibly they aren’t syncing for you because you need to manually download the songs from Music app… since auto download isn’t working. Other option, sign out of Apple Music and back in. Sometimes that clears up any glitch.
That is not possible with an Apple Silicon Mac. I have a Mac Mini M1 with this problem of selecting "Automatic Downloads" in Apple Music, clicking OK, then reopening the settings to find it is unchecked.
I am having the very same problem, on both my iMac Late 2015 and the new 14 "MacBook Pro. Today's macOS update (12.1) sadly didn't fix it… I still have one MacBook with Big Sur and the option stays checked there, and works without a problem.
Exactly, problem has been happening since Monterey release. There’s no fix.
M1Pro MacBook Pro 16, been having the same issue here and it's so annoying. Hopefully this gets fixed when they rework the Apple Music Mac app presumably next update.
I actually just ordered the new MacBook Pro, been having various issues w/ mine.
When you click yes to Auto downloads, it just reverts back?
Earlier in this thread, they recommend resetting nonvolatile random-access memory (NVRAM). I’ll just wait for a fix…lol
Same D*** issue here.
Plus, I bought an album via Music app on M1X MacBook Pro and several of the songs won't add to my music cloud so they don't show up on my my iPhone. Crazy thing is some of the songs from the album do show up, but 8 of them don't. I've tried adding songs to library...nope. Very irritating!
Any ideas on the 8 songs from a 30 track album that won’t upload to the cloud and therefore won’t show on my iPhone or iPad? Both are the latest models running the latest OS releases. Bought the album this morning while on my MacBook Pro. All are signed in to the same account, etc, etc, etc. Beyond annoying as there is no way to “force” add the missing tracks. Guess I could try the renaming trick….
Not a member of Apple Music. I do subscribe to what used to be called iTunes Match.
I have this same issue. Been on support line earlier for ages now found this thread. Occuring for me in Music App - I use itunes Match - have tried signing in/out; deauthorise etc to no avail.
Tried the NVRAM fix also - didn't help.
OMG I am not alone. Lol. Yes. Same is happening and driving me nuts. Must be a bug. I actually just posted the same thing.
This can't be done on the A1 MacBook, right?
Thanks! Apparently others are experiencing same issue. Might be better to wait for a fix.
