I really need help, I recently updated to Monterey, and also updated FCPX, but now my projects are full of the warning; Missing Plugin. As I didn't know I needed to, as I haven't had a problem before, I have not got backups of my libraries.
I did have a back up of FCPX 10.5.1, but as the libraries have been updated, now they won't open.
I cannot lose all my work, what do I do?!

If you're under deadline and need to get back up and running quickly, you could open a library backup that was created prior to being updated for FCP 10.6. By default, backups are stored in your ~/Movies/Final Cut Backups/ folder.
If you want to try to solve the missing plugin problem we'll need more info including screenshots showing the warning and an Etrecheck report from https://etrecheck.com Give Etrecheck Full Disk access in System Preferences->Security & Privacy->Privacy. When it finishes the scan, click Share Report, then click Copy Report. Click the "Additional text" icon at the bottom of your reply window here and paste. This report will let us see details that can help solve the issue.
Now I understand what you're saying, thanks, I have never gone too much into the settings side of things in the inspector, even though I've been doing this for a while! 😆
I have actually solved the problem, through another problem I had with importing, I discovered that since the update, I needed to allow FCPX full disk access on my Mac. Because I had left files in place, it obviously couldn't access them. All is back to normal now, with no warnings! 😅 Thanks so much for all the help anyway, I really appreciate it 👍

Sorry I had missed your first screenshot when I replied.
We need to figure out what these clips are. The extended metadata as Tom said would help: at the bottom of the inspector click the popup and choose Extended or General instead of Basic.
Also:
Control-click one of these clips in thebrowser and choose Reveal in Finder.
See if the clip opens in Quicktime Player.
If it does, then press Command-I and post a screenshot of the Info window.
If not, open with VLC, press Command-I, choose Codec Details and post a screenshot.
The first thing to do is to find out what the plugins are, whether they’re playback plugins or third party plugins on clips. Some plugins simply have to reinstalled.
Playback plugins have to be installed. They come from the camera manufacturer's website.
The screenshot you posted is a compound clip. Open it and see what's going on inside. Post a screenshot.
Please post screenshots of the red thumbnail and of the inspector.
We need to know what type of plugin this is.
re: terryb That was really helpful, I didn't know that, however, the fcpx version I backed up was an older one than the library I made, so it says the library cannot be opened.
re:tom, I have never downloaded a plugin, so it is a playback plugin? How would I find out, and how can I re-get the playback plugin?

re tom its exactly the same inside the compound clip. And when I re-import the footage, it works just fine.

That’s Settings. At the bottom change Settings to Extended.
For an excellent introduction to FCP start with the IzzyVideo tutorials. FCP’s a complex application and takes a little study to even understand the basics.
The warning is in the browser, in the timeline and in the viewer.
Where did this 5K footage come from?
Settings doesn't tell you anything about the media. What's in Extended, the whole length?
What do you mean, 'extended'?
It’s long. Most of it will be City off unless you extend the inspector. View >Toggle Inspector Height or double click the name at the top of the inspector.
