No icon preview for eps-files in Monterey

Hi,

Just upgraded from Big Sur to Monterey on my iMac Pro and discovered that all my eps-files doesn't show any icon preview anymore, just a generic eps icon. I have tried to open one of them in the latest Adobe Illustrator 2022 and saved it again - but still no icon preview. Restart doesn't help either!

Is this a bug or am I the only one with this issue?

As an illustrator, this is really frustrating.

Hasn't worked for me, the other users work around worked for me straight away though, just renaming the .eps extension to .ai and the thumbnail shows up straight away and opens as it should in Photoshop etc.

THIS WORKED for me — THANK YOU! :)

But damnit Apple, y'all need to SERIOUSLY clearly need to run your updates through MANY MORE DESIGNERS to work stuff out BEFORE YOU RELEASE UPDATES. Kinks like this should be caught WILL BEFORE we have to stop in the middle of our RUSH project to Google and figure this sh*t out.

Honestly. Preview, jpgs and .ai? But not .eps? Come. On. DO. BETTER.

I tried all those steps, and all was well… until the last step. I couldn't copy into the /Library/QuickLook folder. I tried changing the permissions but it seems any folder in the System folder cannot be written to? =(

**EDIT

I was trying to copy to System/Library/Quicklook, and not to Library/Quicklook. Once I did that, I can see the Quicklook, though the little icon is still not previewing. It's close enough for me though.

Thanks Kurthis!

WHY!!!!! Do these programmers feel the need to make things more difficult for the users??????

Icon preview was working just fine, AND.... a most valuable feature. But THEN, someone comes along preparing the next macOS update and decides to do away with icon preview? Seriously.... if whomever feels the need to "tinker" with something I suggest instead that you clean your room, or take a walk, or get a hobby other than messing with the functional user-friendly operating system. Was your old job working for Bill Gates???
